Artist and illustrator, passionate about collage and assemblage.

 

Fiona looks for signs of life in discarded objects. The objects she chooses to transform often imbue a strange, sweet melancholy that holds her attention. She creates sculptures, photographs and moving images by assembling objects and materials that resonate with nostalgia, home and a sense of belonging. Her materially-driven methods can be described as sensory, playful, tactile and poetic.

​Based in Brisbane, Fiona was born in Zimbabwe and has worked in the arts industry in South Africa, London and Australia. She has a Doctorate in Visual Arts through Griffith University, Brisbane.
